Bioneer is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a relevant scientific background to head a new large Research Initiative (RI) aiming at developing novel manufacturing technologies for stem cell therapies as well as novel stem cell-based disease models.

The RI comprises a number of scientific multi-partner research projects performed at universities and at Bioneer.

One major expected outcome of the RI aside from ground breaking research is generation of novel stem therapy manufacturing platforms and novel disease models created by translation of promising scientific results obtained in the individual projects

The role

The Project Manager will head the operations of the RI, including monitoring research progress, scientific outcomes, generation of novel technologies and manage resources.

The Project Manager is expected to secure the required governance activities of the Initiative, including the needed collaborations with the Principal Investigators in the Initiative, the Executive Board, the Project Board.

Reporting to the CSO at Bioneer, the Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities of the Principal Investigators, including the organisation of RI activities such as project meetings, the Annual Scientific Meeting, general dissemination activities. The Project Manager will liaise with the Principal Investigators of the Initiativesensuring appropriate coordination and oversight of activities across all and between the research groups of the Initiative.

It will be equally important that the Project Manager is able to help translating discoveries into commercial solutions in collaboration with the Bioneer business development team.

Main responsibilities

• Overall management of the Research Initiative
• Overall operational activities in collaboration with Principal Investigators
• Secure that promising scientific discoveries can be/are translated to commercial attractive services at Bioneer
• Manage the governance activities of the RI
• Identify and coordinate applications for external funding
• Interact directly with Bioneer’s management team
• Oversee the development of the reporting (quarterly) and other reporting requirements

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in project management of larger scientific projects involving multiple research groups
• Experience in managing and coordinating scientific teams
• Scientific degree in biomedical science (preferable supplemented with project management skills)
• A background in the stem cell field is preferred

• Ability to generate project deliverables according to budget and time
• Facilitator skills
• Ability to prepare high level documentation for project boards etc.
• Preferable experience with business aspects of stem cell based preclinical models or the stem cell therapy field
