Lars Hagsholm Pedersen

CEO, Ph.D.

CEO and Head of Sales and BD. Many years of hands-on experience in a range of scientific disciplines. Responsible for Protein Manufacturing Services, and Molecular Histology and Detection.

Lars H. Pedersen is M.Sc. in biology from University of Copenhagen and Ph.D. in plant membrane proteins from The Technical University of Denmark, and has a business education from Engineering College of Copenhagen. He has worked hands-on with molecular diagnostics, cell technology, protein production and medico technology. He was CSO at Bioneer for twelve years where research interests comprised combinations of life and physical sciences, respectively . The last four years he has headed Sales and Business development where the main task has been to tailor Bioneers activities to meet the demands of clients. He was appointed CEO as per April 1th 2018.

Christian Clausen

CSO, M.Sc.

Responsible for Research and Development. He has extensive experience in establishing and driving biomedical and biotechnological R&D projects forward to achieve their goals.

Christian Clausen is educated in biochemistry and medical science at University of Southern Denmark and Odense University Hospital, with research visits at Aarhus University Hospital. He has completed R&D management programs at Harvard Business School, Boston. His research experience is primarily in the human cell biology field, especially in developing in vitro model systems and recombinant protein production. He was previously R&D Manager at Interface Biotech, leading several pipeline programs from preclinical to clinical phase. He has extensive experience in executive management of large national and international public-private partnerships. As CSO he is responsible for the overall R&D strategy and for external strategic collaborations across the Bioneer organization.

Lovisa Sunesson

Sales and BD, Ph.D.

Part of the Sales and BD team. Responsible for the business area Human Disease Models. Lovisa combines in-depth scientific knowhow with business, innovation and communication skills.

Lovisa Sunesson has an MSc degree in Biomedicine and a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Lund University. Her thesis was in neuroscience focusing on neuroblastoma and ALS. Before joining Bioneer, she has worked with business development and foreign direct investment for the southernmost region of Sweden and Medicon Valley, as well as with business development and innovation at the Technical University of Denmark.

Vibeke Dalhoff

Sales and BD, M.Sc., eMBA

Sales and BD team. Responsible for the business unit Bioneer:FARMA. Vibeke combines knowhow on technology with a specialist knowledge in business development and strategic marketing.

With a MSc in Pharma combined with an executive MBA (Master in Management of Technologies) Vibeke Dalhoff combines a broad understanding of technologies with a specialist knowledge in business development and strategic marketing. Before joining Bioneer, Vibeke has worked on local and international projects in pharmaceutical, biotech, supplement and medtech companies plus helped attracting foreign investments to Medicon Valley.

Charlotte Kvist Lorentzen

Contract Manufacturing, Dept. Head, M.Sc.

Heading the Contract Manufacturing group in Hørsholm. Responsible for the production operations and quality control within the GMP production.

Charlotte Kvist Lorentzen has a B.Sc degree in chemistry from the Technical University of Denmark. She has been with the GMP production facility at Bioneer for almost 20 years.

Søren Madsen

Bacterial Protein Production, Dept. Head, Ph.D.

Heading the Bacterial Expression group in Hørsholm, managing R&D and customer relations, and handling projects from small-scale protein production to downstream processing.

Søren Madsen has an MSc degree in chemistry from the Technical University of Denmark. During his employment at Bioneer, he completed a PhD degree (Molecular Biology) on development and characterization of regulated promoters from lactic acid bacteria. He has more than 20 years of experience with manufacturing of recombinant proteins in prokaryotic expression systems.

Anette Müllertz

Bioneer:FARMA, Dept. Head, Professor

Anette Müllertz is heading the Bioneer:FARMA unit, located at the Department of Pharmacy at University of Copenhagen. She is also Professor in Pharmaceutical Design and Drug Delivery.

Anette Müllertz has an M.Sc. in Engineering and a PhD degree in lipid nutrition from the Technical University of Denmark. She has previously worked for Novo Nordisk A/S, on development of structured lipids, digestive lipases and digestion models etc. In 1998 she joined the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Today, she is professor and heading the Rational Oral Drug Delivery Research Group, focusing on developing predictive biopharmaceutics tools for oral drug delivery and lipid based drug delivery systems.

Monika Gad

Immunology, R&D manager, Ph.D.

Part of the Biomedical Technology group in Hørsholm. Responsible for the R&D activities and services within Immunology covering a broad range of simple to advanced immunological in vitro platforms.

Monika Gad has an M.Sc. in Biology and Ph.D. in Cellular Immunology from University of Copenhagen. She has a solid experience in both cancer biology as well as inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, in addition to a broad knowledge of both human and murine immunology. During the last 20 years Monika Gad has established an extensive experience in design and implementation of complex functional immunological in vitro and ex vivo assays. Her expertise in cell-based assays ranges from drug discovery and early mode-of-action analysis to drug pharmacology assays and non-clinical activities, needed as a compound or cell product approaches the clinic.

Kim Holmstrøm

Molecular Detection, R&D Manager, Ph.D.

Part of the Biomedical Technology group in Hørsholm. Responsible for the R&D activities and services within Molecular Detection covering a broad range of molecular based detection tools.

Kim Holmstrøm has an MSc degree in chemical engineering and a PhD in molecular microbiology/biology from the Technical University of Denmark. Through his career of almost 30 years, he has worked in molecular diagnostics, initially focusing on detecting bacterial pathogens, but in the last 13 years moving his focus into the biomedical field developing tools for detecting and characterizing biomarkers in biological samples. Kim Holmstrøm is also chairing the Danish Biomarker Network, and he is actively involved in establishing a Danish national infrastructure for the efficient development of biomarkers for clinical implementation.

Bjørn Holst

Disease Models, R&D Manager, Ph.D.

Part of the Biomedical Technology group in Hørsholm. Responsible for the Disease Model research group, covering R&D projects based on iPSC and gene editing technology.

Bjørn Holst has an M.Sc. in Molecular Biology and a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Southern Denmark. He has almost 30 years of experience in working with molecular biology in bacteria, yeast and mammalian cells. Since 2009, he has been working with pluripotent stem cells and disease modelling. He has extensive experience in reprogramming of primary patient cells to induced pluripotent stem cells, differentiation of stem cells to relevant cell types and establishment of in vitro 2D and 3D disease models for drug screening and studying disease mechanisms.

Boye Schnack Nielsen

Molecular Histology, Business and Research Manager, Ph.D.

Part of the Biomedical Technology group in Hørsholm. Responsible for the business and R&D activities within Molecular Histology covering a broad range of simple to advanced, automated research platforms.

Boye Schnack Nielsen obtained his PhD at the Finsen Laboratory, Rigshospitalet, where he did scientific research within tumor biology and disease models. He then worked at Exiqon to develop in situ detection methods of microRNA on diagnostic-type paraffin samples using LNA technology. The strong knowledge of in situ detection techniques and complex tissues forms the basis of Bioneer’s molecular histology services, where Boye has completed 100+ commercial projects.

Pernille Skouboe

RA/QA Manager, Adm. Dept. Head, M.Sc.

Responsible for quality assurance and regulatory compliance objectives within the R&D services and GMP production.

Pernille Skouboe has a MSc degree in Food Science and Technology from University of Copenhagen. Pernille has been QA/RA Manager for the GMP production at Bioneer for more than 10 years, and she has worked with documentation and implementation of regulatory compliance.

Additionally, Pernille is also Head of the Administrative Department, responsible for support, management and administrative governance of the Bioneer organization.

Britta Smedegaard Andersen

NEXT Partnership, Project Director, M.Sc.

Heading the public-private partnership NEXT, which aims to make Denmark a country of choice for the pharmaceutical industry for early clinical trials of new drugs for patients.

Britta Smedegaard Andersen has an M.Sc. Pharm degree. Prior to the position at NEXT, she worked at the Copenhagen Capital Region of Denmark as a Senior Advisor within clinical development and established a “One-stop-shop” for industry collaborating with the Danish hospitals regarding clinical trials. Britta’s experience also includes 14 years employment in the pharma industry within clinical development in positions as Head of Clinical Operations & International Clinical Trial Manager at ALK-Abelló and Clinical Research Associate at Novartis Healthcare A/S.
